It is pretty amazing how far and how quick wireless devices and technologies have progressed over the past generation, let alone over a decade in the new millennium. From a flip phone that could only call and text, to now the product known as smartphones, which I feel has claimed fame to having the greatest impact on society today.
Think about it, since 2007 when the iPhone launched a few years after a market started to form for the mobile world. Also, having major brands entering the market around the same timeframe has now further crafted the market for mobile advertising, which in 2009 was estimated at $419 million to 2011 estimated over $1.1 billion. Finally, you now have over 100 million people browsing the world wide web via the smartphones.
With just these statistics along with the new smartphone concept, "Smart Watch" that Samsung has created can be safe to say that smartphones are having the greatest impact on society and very well maintain this role for the next decade.
